Working In Healthcare

Author: Jen  |  Category: Everyday Life

Sometimes I wonder why I decided to work in healthcare.  I could have been a lab rat, a computer geek, or  worked in a discount furniture wharehouse driving a fork truck.  Anything that doesn’t have to do with people.   Why?  Because some people are just totally crazy.  The wheel is spinning but the hamster’s dead.  Gates are down, lights are flashing, but the train ain’t coming.  I have a bipolar schizophrenic patient that speaks in fragmented and confusing sentences.  A co-worker of mine has a knee patient that enjoys telling his old war stories and recounts the people he killed.  I know soldiers have to do this in war situations and thank God I will never know what that’s like.  However, one shouldn’t have enjoyment in their eyes when they talk about it.  Please go to a shrink and talk about it.
