X-Box 360 or Playstation 3?

Entertainment September 18th, 2008

My husband is a huge gamer and currently has a playstation 2.  At least 3 to 4 times a week he goes down to his friends house to play Xbox until all hours of the night.  I’ve heard the new playstation 3 has incredible graphics and many new games to choose from.  The only bad thing is the upgrade you have to purchase on the system to play the old playstation 2 games.  The Xbox has come down in price and will have new games coming out just in time for Christmas.

Pop Fiction Isn’t Real

Entertainment March 17th, 2008

I love the new show on E! called Pop Fiction where celebrities play practical jokes on the media.  The obsession with the train wreck lives of Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, and the Olsen twins is just way out of hand.  I know it seems like every other day one them is back in drug treatment but somehow we need to stop the media feeding frenzy.  Why?  Half of the smut in the magazines isn’t true and published merely to make money.  I guess some believe that exploitation is the price of fame but I think celebrities are still just human beings like you and me no matter how rich they are.  Really, they are just people.  Why do we worship them?

Reaction To Britney

Entertainment January 19th, 2008

Its unbelievable to me how Britney Spears is being talked about everywhere now.  You can’t turn on the tv, radio, or internet without someone saying something bad about this woman.  The latest rumor I heard was she was out shopping topless.  Now, we all know Britney is not out shopping for communion invitations or anything but shopping topless?  Who sits around and makes this stuff up?  According to E! it was just a rumor and not true at all.  We all know that she has some pretty serious issues but why are people so obssessed with the daily events of her life?  Is Britney trying to keep herself in the limelight by acting insane or do people really want to know all this garbage about her?

The Love Of Beer

Entertainment January 16th, 2008

When Lacey moved to Chicago I no longer had my favorite bar hopping, beer drinking soul mate.  She lived walking distance to a favored club spot by all the locals in the city.  It’s a small, artsy, eclectic village nestled right in the middle of a large city where the working weary gather nightly to warm the bar stools
or wear down the dance floor.  She was the skinniest person I knew who could drink anyone under the table.  The second you ordered a drink you were in trouble because from then on it wouldn’t stop for hours.  She would note my beer preference and without asking hand me beer after beer after beer until I begged for mercy.  The night would always end with burritos as big as your head and the sloppy walk back to Lacey’s house.  To this day I still love beer.

iSkin for iPod

Entertainment, Shopping & Product Reviews October 23rd, 2007

I was so excited when I got my first iPod for my birthday from my husband 2 years ago.  How great is it to have all your music in one simple easy-to-use device?  There would be no heavy case of countless CD’s to change in and out of the portable CD player anymore.  I can’t believe how much I love my iPod.  I take it with me everywhere.  To work, on road trips, on flights, to the doctors office, and even to bed when I can’t fall asleep.  With 20 GB of space my music library is virtually limitless.  I have often wondered how long it would take me to fill  20 GB of space with mp3’s.  As much as I love my iPod I also love the protective case I bought from www.iskin.com.  I had difficulty with the screen getting scratches so ”iSkin” accessories help keep your iPod looking like new.  The rubber “skin” comes in a variety of colors which fit easily over your iPod.  My iSkin came with a clear plastic piece you insert directly over the screen to keep it safe from scratches.  Works like a charm!
