My flowers are growing so well this summer.  I love my purple petunias, every night when I get home from work my back patio is the best aromatherapy.

Photos Capture New Memories

Photography October 3rd, 2007

On January 30, 2003 my dad died of colon cancer.  My mom, sisters, and I were completely devastated.  Over lunch last week my mom mentioned that she hadn’t taken a single picture with her camera since dad got sick.  This really got to me.  In fact, she doesn’t even have a digitial camera and still owns her old film camera she’s had since I can’t remember when.  All of this made me realize how much meaning photos have in the memories of our lives.  A photo is a memory frozen in time so we don’t forget those great moments for events big or small.  It makes me sad to think that my mom will have gone nearly 5 years without taking a picture.  Even though we can’t get those 5 years back we can always move forward and take pictures of new memories.  On my Christmas list mom is getting a digital camera so she can capture new memories again.
