Travel Ideas

Get Out There May 24th, 2008

Lately I’ve been reading about so many Americans who have decided to stay home because they cannot afford to travel this year.  With the economy in its current state the cost for basic necessities comes before anything that’s simply not needed like travel.  So, I’ve been skimming the web and found some great travel deals.  Expedia.com is offering their biggest sale of the year with up to 30% off on hotels, cars, cruises, and even activities.  Travelocity has a 6 night Carribean package starting at only $652 which includes airfare and hotel.

Weight Loss Cream

Health & Fitness May 21st, 2008

I’ve never tried a weight loss cream but I’m always willing to try just about anything.  From what I’ve read the cream can be applied to trouble spots like the tummy, hips, thighs, and the back of the arms.  The creams have skin conditioners, wrinkle reducing compounds, and toners that help reduce the appearance of cellulite.  With bathing suit season coming better looking skin on trouble zones can make all the difference in the world.  If anyone has tried weight loss cream let me know how it worked.

Travel In Style

Get Out There May 18th, 2008

The countdown continues and it is now only 1 week until we leave for our vacation.  Yesterday I pulled our luggage out of the depths of the garage only to notice its deteroirating condition.  I usually don’t spend a lot of money on nice luggage but now I’m deciding whether I should.  A few years ago my husband and I flew to Miami, FL and then drove down into The Keys.  We arrived at our hotel and pulled our luggage out of the trunk when my bag completely fell apart.  We had to duct tape the hell out it to get it home.  Now with the state of my current luggage I’m wondering if the same thing will happen.  So I’ve been looking at some nice Samsonite or Briggs and Riley luggage for future airline travel.  We all know our bags gets some brutal treatment by the luggage loaders at the airport.

This Weeks Mishaps

Everyday Life May 14th, 2008

Sometimes you just have to laugh at the little things that can go wrong throughout the day.  So far this week I’ve had several and didn’t realize how many until I started to ponder it just now.  So far this week my mishaps include:

1.  Got burned in the tanning bed after only 8 minutes.

2.  Scrapped the skin off my heel on the step in the pool.

3.  Got a flat tire while riding my bicycle.

4.  Got back spasms from a combination of too much weight training and cardio in one day.

5.  Dropped a few diet pills in the toilet the other morning.

6.  Spilled coffee on my khaki pants three times this morning on the drive to work.

7.  Left hair color on too long and dyed my hair jet black.

And to think its only Wednesday?

South Beach Diet

South Beach Diet May 14th, 2008

Over a year ago I tried The South Beach Diet and I lost about 10 lbs. in the first 2 weeks or Phase 1 of the eating plan.  The first two days of going carb-less where nearly impossible.  If you can just get past those first couple days then you can easily make it the rest of the 2 weeks.  Unfortunately, I’ve gained the weight back due to poor eating choices and stress.  It’s not the diets fault, its my fault for turning to sugar filled foods to make myself feel better.  In order to be successful there are so many factors to plan ahead of time.  Here’s my list:

1.  Don’t start the diet if you have a lot of stress in your life.  Stress leads to poor eating choices…enough said.

2.  Participate and commit to a regular exercise routine before you start the diet.  Its easier to keep the weight off once you’ve lost it if you are already in the habit of exercising.

3.  Plan your meals through all 3 phases!!  I can’t stress this enough.  Part of the reason I failed this diet was because I didn’t plan my meals once I was finished with Phase 1.  Big mistake.

4.  Follow this diet with a friend or online forum or chat group for support.

Vacation Is Near

I am very excited that our vacation is only 2 weeks away!  We have reserved a cabin on the lake in Minnesota fishing for a week.  No phone or cable tv is actually a welcome relief for me since I feel like my life is utter chaos sometimes.  I’m quite a news junkie so honestly I need a break from the media feeding frenzy on the presidential election, high gas prices, mortgage lenders mistakes, and the food crisis.  Sometimes you just got to unwind with no disturbances, a good book, a cold beer, and a lakefront view.

List Broker For Your Business

Business May 13th, 2008

If you own any type of sales business a list broker can be a great way to generate leads.  One of the biggest challenges is finding qualified and interested buyers to make your business grow.  The lists generated are also targeted prospects from different areas of interest, meaning you’ll get prospects interested in what you have to sell.  If you sell life insurance than you won’t get leads interested in car loans.  List brokers even produce prospects from all demographics like age, race, sex, and location.  Many brokers will work with your specific needs and advertising budgets.

Medical Insurance

Health & Fitness May 13th, 2008

Whatever happenend to medical insurance?   I know that those of us who have it are lucky but the cost of it is making me wonder if its all worth it.  For many workers you pay high monthly premiums out of every paycheck only to get bills in the mail from your doctors on the huge amounts that insurance hasn’t covered.  It is really easy for me to understand why so many just can’t afford it and elect to go without it.  I think medical insurance is one of the biggest and most expensive burdens that Americans are facing right now.  I’ve really been watching what the presidential hopefuls are planning to do about it.
